Field Trip, Sort Of

We had planned to go the high school for our field trip last Tuesday, but were out of school for flooding.

Instead, they came to us on Friday!

The drama class had a superhero theme.

We rotated through 6 stations and participated in all sorts of fun events!

The kids loved it and the high schoolers were awesome!

Some of the kids decided to give themselves superhero names. Katie named herself "PURPLE GOO"!

Brayden, Alex, Tanner, and Zane named themselves the "BLUEBERRY BOYS" because of their blue masks (they look kind of green in the picture, but they were blue).
Apparently they fight crime by throwing blueberries.

Josh was called "RASPBERRY BOY".For a while Tristen tried not talking (it didn't last long). We called him, "SILENT BUT VIOLENT".

Thank you to Mrs. Depriest and the high schoolers for a fun day!

Field Day

We had Field Day this morning. The weather cooperated and we had a good time. Tanner coached Brayden as they prepared for the first event, Tug-of-War.

We won the first time, but lost the second time.

Then we went to the field events. These were the winners of the 100 yard dash (or 100 mile dash as Kennedy called it).

We then went over to the frisbee throw. Taigan, Makenna, Angeline, Tristen, Tanner, and Wil won some ribbons over there.

The kids were all good sports and seemed to have fun.

When Tristen got to school this morning he said, "Mrs. Ward, I'm not really ready for field day because I'm out of shape." He won first place in 3 events.

Next was the softball throw. Kennedy, Sydney, Taigan, Brayden, Tanner, and Wilson won over there.

Tristen, Tanner, Wilson, Mallorie, Kennedy, Regan, and Katie won the 50 yard dash.

We ate our snack and lunch outside.

Our class also won the dodgeball tournament!

Then each student was given the chance to dunk a PE teacher. We were trying to dunk Mr. Weber. He was a student teacher for PE this year.

Tanner, Katie, Tristen, and Brayden put Mr. Weber in the water!

Don't let Katie's frail body structure and cheerleading poses fool you. She was impressive today!

Then we enjoyed some free time to play.

A couple of the kids commented on how exhausted they were, but it sure was fun!
