We discussed solids and liquids as we melted the butter.
As we counted the 6 tablespoons of cocoa we did some simple math problems.
"If we have 3 tablespoons and we need 6 tablespoons, how many more do we need?"

We used sequencing as we talked about what we would do next. 
We predicted all the ingredients we would need for the brownies.
We reviewed fractional parts, such as 1/2.
We talked about where chocolate comes from and some of the other uses of chocolate.
Zane and Tanner even used their muscles to stir the flour. They wanted to see if their workout was paying off.

Today we used MnMs to do some math activities. The students were given graph paper and asked to predict how many MnMs were going to be in their bag and what colors.
Then they were given their bags of MnMs. They sorted them and graphed them. Then they compared it to their predictions.
We put them in groups. Using 12 MnMs we did 2 groups of 6, 3 groups of 4, 4 groups of 3, and 6 groups of 2.
We should finish our Chocolate Touch book today. I guess that will be the end of our chocolate activities. Maybe we can find a book called "The Pizza Touch"! 
We told what it looked like and felt like.
We smelled it and listened to the sound as we unwrapped it.
Then we tasted it! The kids all came up with great descriptions and we wrote a list on the smartboard.
Then we learned about concrete poems. The kids did an amazing job. 
They all worked really hard and earned lots of points for the quarter. Josh chose to eat with "Mallorie's coach" also known as Coach King.
Katie chose Mrs. Alicia's daughter, Hadley.
