Happy Birthday Regan

Regan celebrated her 7th birthday in our class on Thursday.

The boys bowed down to her 7 times and we sang Happy Birthday.
We enjoyed the cupcakes and chips that she brought for us.

We learned from the Halloween party that Regan really enjoys cupcakes with purple frosting!!

After we had our snacks some of the students decided to sing and dance for Regan to make her birthday feel extra special.
Many of them also gave her nice compliments and Mallorie even snuck her a little present!

I am blessed to have such a sweet, caring class. We hope your birthday is really great Regan!

Thank You Marissa

Our Homecoming Queen Marissa is so sweet!

She loved the sign we made for her and held up at the parade so she sent us a thank you note with Blow Pops!!

The kids were so excited and really enjoyed the suckers!

Thanks Marissa!

Who Works in Our Community?

We've been reading the story, "Who Works Here?" this week. Today we talked with some people who work in our community. Stephanie and Matt and Taya came to read to our class today. Matt is a Joplin police officer and Steph is a pediatric nurse practitioner.
The fact that it is Drug Awareness Week really brought up some interesting questions and stories for Matt.

They asked Steph if she gives shots.
And they asked Taya about preschool.
Their daughter, Taya, is only four but she read a book to our class. We were really impressed!
Then they signed autographs and took pictures.

Matt made them all Jr. Police Officers and made them promise to be kind to others and obey their teacher. Then he gave them a badge.

The kids enjoyed showing Taya our centers.

Thanks Matt, Steph, and Taya for coming to our class. We had a lot of fun!

Here's a little video of Taya reading her book to us. Wow!
